of fish to catch, canoeing or rafting down the Delaware

The Delaware River flows along
Pike County, PA's entire eastern boundary, separating it
from both New York State and New Jersey.
The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation
Area, starting in Pike County, PA
is a 35 mile stretch of the
river from Matamoras, PA/Port Jervis, NY, and running
downstream to the Delaware Water Gap in Stroudsburg, PA.
There are
several waterfalls including the largest and second largest
in the state located in Dingmans Ferry, PA and just a short
distance drive from the Dingmans Ferry Bridge.

The bald eagle, has made a milestone of 203 active
nests this year in 50 counties in PA. Pike County
has the second most nests with 19.
Pike County's most famous resident, an American
Black Bear can weigh as much as 800lbs. They
typically live in the large forested areas.
The Pleated Woodpecker
is the largest woodpecker in North America. Its loud ringing calls announce its presence in the forest.
The red-tailed hawk is one of the most common bird
of prey in Pike County PA. It has reddish-brown
plumage on its back and tail.
